WHAT TO EXPECT

Here’s what to expect on your first consultation visit with Dr. Highsmith and his team.

Before the consultation, our new patient coordinator Sonya will call you to have a discussion about what you’re looking for.

At the consultation appointment, we will take you on a tour of the office, pointing out some of the aspects of our practice that makes us different. Sonya will spend time with you discussing your hopes and dreams for your mouth. The best way to communicate dentistry is with photographs, so she will take photographs of your mouth to help you to understand your unique situation and options.

The first consultation is not a comprehensive examination. Many people want to just get an idea of what their general options are, and if this is the right office for them. At the end of the consult, you’ll have a much better idea of what’s going on in your mouth and a general idea of your options. You’ll have a ballpark idea of what treatment costs as well. For our patients who travel an hour or more to see us, we can consolidate the consult and examination.

The next step, if you want to proceed, is a comprehensive examination. This does include all necessary radiographs, including a Cat Scan if appropriate. We’ll do a detailed examination of your mouth so that we know everything that could cause you not to meet your long term goals for your mouth.

PATIENT FORMS

The following forms can be completed online and submitted to our office. By filling out these forms ahead of time, you will save a significant amount of time during your visit. Please be prepared to provide this information to our office along with your current medical insurance information. If you have any questions when filling out these forms, please do the best you can and our staff will assist you with your questions on the day of your visit.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 48 hours notice. This courtesy, on your part, will make it possible to give your appointment to another patient. Please call our office for more details.

CARE CREDIT

In an effort to make your dental care as affordable as possible, Dr. Highsmith does accept third-party financing through CareCredit.
